HADDENHAM TABLE TENNIS CLUB approached the Trust to provide finance for a replacement floor in the Sports Pavilion as the one that they have been playing on was in poor condition and no longer able to be used safely. The first two games of the current season have been cancelled for this reason. The Trustees were pleased to provide a Grant of £1,000 to fund a new floor surface to allow the Club to carry on with the remainder of their fixtures for this season and many more to come.

Haddenham Table Tennis Club has been playing Competitive League Table Tennis since the early 1940’s.  Initially, all home matches were played in a Barn, belonging to a house in Churchend, they later moved to the present venue of the Sports Pavilion at Haddenham Playing Fields in 1974. They currently have 5 teams competing in the Aylesbury League and 2 teams competing in the Oxford League, in seasons running from September to April.

Haddenham Table Tennis Club has been successful over the years and first won the Aylesbury Premier League in 1972, with following wins in 1980, 1996, 2004, 2010 & 2011.  They won the top league in Oxford in 1984 & 1885.

The current Haddenham A team, Andy Misseldine, Mark Scott & Darren Palmer have been the Club’s most successful team ever & represented Aylesbury in the National Wilmott cup competition in 2011.  Andrew Misseldine is currently ranked No.65 in England Veterans (aged 40 and over). Mark Scott was the top player in the Aylesbury Premiership 2010-11 with a 94% win average. HTTC also provided winners in 6 of the 8 main events at the 2011 Aylesbury Championships. Brian Maxwell was HTTC’s first Aylesbury Mens Singles Champion in 1970, with Brian Allen winning the title in 1980. Andrew Misseldine has won it for the last 4 seasons.

The Trustees are very pleased to support all sports activities in the area and congratulate the HTTC on their successes especially considering that they are a Village club, playing against much bigger organisations on a regular basis.
